The cleanliness, hospitality and general service of the hotel were what I would consider peak! The staff never fails to strike up a small conversation to aid you with your stay or to give you better service. Also the friendliness on both arrival and departure, to cover empty-time during these procedures, was warm and welcoming. Mr Mohammed in particular handled the stay with professionalism and great English. I was even upgraded into a much better top floor sea-view room, which features stunning sunsets! The safety of the location is not a concern, it is just a typical close-to-bay area of a big city, with your expected cargo companies populating the street as well as numerous hotels, as the area is somewhat touristic due to the proximity to the city centre. While one has to pay attention to their surroundings and not provoke attention, it definitely felt safe because of the presence of both local and foreign people, even very late at night. There are numerous options for both local and "western chain" cuisine at reasonable prices. Overall the stay is budget friendly and of extremely high quality. Don't forget to get your Istanbul card from the Yenikapi metro station automated vendors, public transport is excellent!

This hotel is a definitely go to again, once back to istanbul! The Facilities are great, rooms are new, tidy &clean, toilet hygiene is well maintained. The owners of the hotel themselves show up regularly to make sure that all the guests are satisfied with their stay! When it comes to the Staff, they are the cherry on top ! They are extremely friendly and helpful, they are always there to offer help, suggesting best routes, guiding you to the best activities in the city. Once there you must ask about Mohamed Aslam, he is the most helpful and friendly host that will help you with whatever you need ! Mansour Too is very helpful ! Definitely Recommended !!

Handy for railway stations. Many restaurants, big and small, close by. Less crowded and felt safe - no-one hassling to buy a carpet. Amiable mix of cultures. Older, original area with families and small workshops, children playing in the street. Great having an elevator in the hotel. Mohammed was great for providing information and advice. Hotel is adequate but at budget level. Area feels like the real Istanbul rather than the tourist area.

First of all i would like to highlight how nice the host were, ready to help us anytime needed anything and we could contact them 0-24 since the reception was always open. The room was immaculate, modern, clean and well equipped, it met and even exceeded all our expectations. Room service came every day without request. The hotel was close to the metro station, the port and other popular destinations such as the grand bazaar. Overall we were very pleased with everything and had a wonderful couple of days there.

We had a wonderful stay at Okda Hotel in Istanbul! The location is absolutely perfect—right in the heart of the old city and within walking distance of all the iconic landmarks, including the Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque. There were also plenty of great eateries nearby where we got to try delicious local food. The hotel was kind enough to accommodate our early morning check-in, which we really appreciated after a long journey. Our room was clean, well-kept daily, and had an incredible view—we could see the Hagia Sophia right from our balcony! A special mention to the receptionist, Mohammad, who was incredibly kind and helpful throughout our stay. He assisted us with public transport cards, gave us great tips for sightseeing, and even guided us to some excellent spots for authentic local cuisine. For a budget hotel, Okda was excellent value for money. Comfortable, clean, well-located, and with warm hospitality—it had everything we needed for a memorable stay in Istanbul. Highly recommend!

The best experience ever, when it comes to hospitality, overall an amazing hotel, friendliness and helpful staff namely Muhammad and Okday. We can't thank you enough for your warm welcome and caring approach during our stay, which made it so special. We stayed there for a week, in a lovely sea view room, very clean, every day we have been offered tea or coffee by staff, always caring about our stay and helpful with ideas where to go. Area is very lively but not disturbing, safe and felt so friendly. Everything what we wanted to see is in short walking distance easy to use local transport especially sea buses, great experience. On our last day we have been offered lift to the metro by Okday, very genuine young man, thank you again for his kindness. We will definitely return to this hotel as we have unforgettable memories from there. We wish them all the best and big thank you!

Upsides: Okda Hotel managed to elevate our expectations when it comes to hospitality. The personnel did their best to accommodate us and our needs, all with a dedication and a genuine smile on their faces we'll surely long for. The hotel's location is ideal for anyone visiting Istanbul for the first time. It’s close to many must-see sights, and the pricing is reasonable, which is an advantage. The rooms were clean, and the surrounding neighborhood felt safer and was more tranquil than we anticipated. There are plenty of places to get a coffee or a meal within a 3–5-minute walk. Mohammed, Mansour, Oktay, we are grateful for your hospitality and kindness. When we return to Istanbul, we plan to stay at Okda Hotel again. It provided a comfortable base for our adventures in the city. Downsides: While the neighborhood initially didn't seem very welcoming, we found it to be quite safe and lively with kids playing and locals going about their day, even during our walks in the evening. Our room, though on the smaller side, was efficiently laid out, allowing us and our luggage to fit comfortably, despite lacking a nightstand and a chair. Instead, we utilized the closet and drawer space for our items. Although we didn't receive the room we initially booked, the hotel upgraded us to a larger one, which was a pleasant surprise. The air conditioning had a mind of its own, occasionally turning on at night, but it did ensure our comfort on warmer evenings. The walls were a bit thin, making it easy to hear neighbors, but the exterior noise insulation was impressive. Arranging for an Uber or taxi was challenging due to the hotel's location and confusing local traffic rules, often leading to higher fares from traffic delays. Nevertheless, we embraced exploring by foot, and public transport, which proved to be an adventure itself, especially considering Istanbul's hilly terrain compared to other cities.

Location near to public transport. Clean and modern inside Comfortable beds Lift , quiet aircon, Fridge in room . Reasonable price Good internet Very good little shop nearby. Try Ayran yoghurt drink!! Walkable to Blue Mosque. But the star of this little hotel is Mohammed, so helpful and friendly and every time we got back he made us tea or coffee while we recovered in the lounge. Mansour was also lovely and helped us a lot as well. If we were to come back to Istanbul this would be where we would stay again for sure

Friendly and helpful staff who were very accommodating, location just near the southern coast and about 10 mins walk from one of the train hubs Yenikapi, just 15-20 mins down the hill from the Grand Bazaar and Hagia Sophia area. The room was comfortable and had a balcony, internet was fast and there was Turkish cable TV
